HTC One X factory data reset

Performing factory data reset ( master reset or hard reset ) HTC One X+ via Settings menu and via External keys ( buttons ):

Performing a factory reset from settings:

1. Slide the Notifications panel open, and then tap Settings
2. Tap Backup & reset.
3. Tap Reset phone.
4. If you want to permanently delete media and other data on HTC One X+, tap Erase all data.
5. Tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons

If you can’t turn HTC One X+ on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC One X+.


  1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
  2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release  the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
  3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER  button.

Warning! All data will be erased from device memory, including system and application data, settings and downloaded applications. Back up your important data.  The device will restore to factory settings.

If HTC One X+ is running slower than normal, is unresponsive, or has an app that is not performing properly, try rebooting and see if that helps solve the problem.
1. If the display is off, press the POWER button to turn it back on.
2. Unlock the display.
3. Press and hold the POWER button, and then tap Restart.
4. When asked to confirm, tap Restart.
